## Overview

### Learn UX & UI Design for Apps & Websites

Learn the art of creating user-friendly and engaging apps and websites in this hands-on summer program in NYC. This program breaks down the necessary skills for effective UI (user interface) and UX (user experience) design. With the help of Figma, a free prototyping app, you'll develop clickable product designs and put them to the test with real users.

The class will start with an introduction to user interface (UI) design, where you'll gain insight into the shared visual language and standard patterns used in app and website interface designs. You'll then implement your newfound knowledge by creating your own UI designs with Figma. Next, the class delves into user experience (UX) design concepts, where you'll develop user personas, user scenarios, and journey maps for the planning stage of your project. You'll apply this knowledge by using Figma to make clickable prototypes and refine them through testing to guarantee a user-friendly product.

Throughout the course, your instructor will discuss essential topics for anyone interested in a design education or career. You'll learn about creative briefs, workflows, portfolio development, and more. This course also incorporates AI into the curriculum. AI is reshaping UX and UI design by personalizing user experiences and streamlining the prototyping process, so you'll understand how the design skills you're developing connect to the tools defining the field's future. By the end of the course, you'll have portfolio projects demonstrating your new skills and a strong knowledge of UX & UI design.
