Learn graphic design concepts, how to use design apps, and how to design and code websites. This 4-week certificate program is split into two parts: Graphic Design Summer Camp and Web Design Summer Camp.
Learn design applications including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Then develop a comprehensive understanding of graphic design concepts and processes, allowing you to create great-looking modern designs and while expanding your portfolio.
Create websites and web graphics in this comprehensive front-end training. You’ll learn to design web layouts for mobile, tablet, and desktop (or screens for apps) using Sketch, and build webpages by coding HTML, CSS, Flexbox, and Grid.
Prerequisites: This summer program is for teens, ages 13-19. There are no prerequisites to attend, but students must be comfortable with basic computer skills and have a desire to learn at an advanced level.

Unit 1 50 Hours
In this web design summer camp, students will learn how to code and design modern responsive websites. Students spend time learning how to design websites using Sketch. After learning how to mock up a website using their newly learned design tools, student move onto to learning how to implement those changes via code.
Unit 2 50 Hours
Master the core principles of design and learn the industry’s most powerful creative tools in this hands-on summer program. High school students will gain experience in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator while building a portfolio of professional-quality projects that are perfect for college applications or creative careers.

The quality of education that this course provides is no joke. The instructor is incredibly proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and makes the massive amount of information thrown at you digestible. Building a portfolio is difficult to start; however, this course made it seem as easy as pie. Overall, I believe that this course was worth it, especially taking into account all that I was taught. I have built a dynamic portfolio that is on the professional level, and along the way, I gained the skills to make my very own designs.

I find it really convenient that there is an ebook because if you miss something or want something to look back on, you can always refer to the lesson plan. I also like how the class content relates it back to purpose: why does this matter? How can you apply this to everyday life? How can you use this concept in other programs?
The instructor provided more information than what was listed in the textbook and created a friendly atmosphere that made us feel at ease to ask questions.
