This course will show a student the processes of creating a website from scratch. The course will start by introducing students to Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). This is a standard language that allows coders to tag text files, to choose fonts, colors, graphics, images, and more onto websites.
Easy to Learn: HTML/CSS are the easiest to learn and implement. There is no math or conditional logic within these languages as there is in Python, Java, and many more. HTML/CSS are both extremely very similar to English and intuitive. Even though these are the most basic web languages they are still extremely powerful especially when paired together.
Capitalize on Ideas: Similar to the two-week app development course, these skills are very marketable to colleges. In addition to that, Students who can build websites can capitalize on any business idea or become a freelance web developer. The ability to create websites is a timeless and necessary skill in today’s economy.
Our web development course is designed mainly for high-school students but college students are welcomed as well!

This class will move towards learning how to input images and organically moving into CSS. Students will be introduced to the class system in CSS as well as CSS tags such as div, background-color, borders, and more. This component of the course will finish with students using developer tools as well as creating a fluid layout on their site.
