Learn how to build, design, and develop websites in this coding and development summer program. This course is divided into two parts: Web Development with HTML & CSS and JavaScript Programming.
Learn how to create websites with HTML and CSS. In this beginner-friendly coding class, you’ll get hands-on experience developing websites from scratch, until you're ready to take your site live by the end of the course. You’ll learn best practices for structuring and tagging the content of your webpages with HTML, and styling the content with CSS.
In the second half of the course, you'll learn how to make your websites interactive and fun to use with JavaScript. You'll learn about variables, arrays, objects, loops, functions, and other key concepts for JavaScript programming. You'll also learn about JavaScript libraries you can use to add features to your site.

Throughout NextGen’s coding intensive I’ve thoroughly improved my problem-solving abilities and developed a strong foundation in computer science. The course was comprehensive and engaging and I definitely feel as though the skills I’ve gained have given me a leg in the classroom and job arena. I really enjoyed the goal-oriented nature of the course. Instead of only learning about the theory behind computing, we got a chance to apply what was being taught by writing code and putting everything together to build something practical. Also, we covered a wide range of topics aside from just programming like a little bit of computer hardware, files & file formats, and HTML. After taking this class, I feel like there are so many more possibilities and applications of computer science than I originally thought. Overall, I was really impressed with how well-designed the course was.
